About the Species
The Fallow Deer (Dama dama) is a ruminant mammal belonging to the family Cervidae. The male is a buck, the female is a doe, and the young a fawn. Only bucks have antlers.
About the Hunt
When you hunt fallow deer in South Africa you can use the same techniques that you would use when hunting whitetail deer in North America. It is most active during the morning and late afternoon hours.
Habitat
They are grazing animals and their preferred habitat is mixed woodland and open grassland.
